Water Temperature
Flovios est semper frigidior quam lacus
The temperature of the water we swim in is a much discussed subject.  In summer 2017 it got as high as 21c and in early 2018 as low as 1.1c thanks to the Beast from the East. Many measurements are taken with a variety of thermometers and the one thing you can rely on is that none of them will return the same reading.  This page gives you a couple of 'official' sources of water temperature in the Thames and some links to other information.  If none of this is of interest to you then perhaps all you need to know is that in the summer months the water can be described as 'lovely' and in the winter months as 'not as warm as we would like'.
